Two trends that I’m super into are the monochromatic palette and the faux sporty look. I obviously had to mix the two in one outfit this weekend as I strolled through the Upper East Side.

P.S. Sweatshorts and tights might replace drop crotch pants in my fashion heart.

Ohk + Leaf

Like most people I get by with a little help from my friends. This is why couldn’t help but oblige when my good friend Sean of Fruit Punch asked me to collab on a post. The mission was to take a Ohk + Leaf bow tie and make them it with our personal styles. I picked a rugged/urban look while Sean opted for splashes of color. (Check out his look here.)

Sometimes the simplest details can make your outfit. For instance, I based this look around the bright red hues from my tie. I paired them with some matching socks and BOOM you don’t even realize I’m in a simple black and white number.

If you’re the type of guy who needs to be about that shirt and slacks life then don’t hide behind that Brooks Brothers sales rack. A litte detail never hurt anyone. *

This isn’t a post about Clue, sorry.

While everyone was headed West for Coachella I was holding down the fort in NYC. Instead of dancing in around in the sunshine, I was layering up once again for a gusty spring day.

When dressing for a bleak day I like always splash of color to keep my mood up like this mustard sweater. (I tried really hard not to make a “squirt” of mustard joke.) I suggest you try the same, you never know whose day you’ll brighten by doing so.

Spring has officially touched down in the city. Something about the weather just makes you want to jump in the streets and dance. (Perhaps it’s the season of hurricanes and blizzards we had this year?)

To be completely honest, this may or may not be the last time I wear socks in a post for a while. You’re doing something wrong if you’re ankles aren’t fully exposed in over 60 degree weather.

The key to dressing for temperamental spring weather? Light layers and a little color. #BOOM
