I’ve gotten to the point where I’ve stopped hyping New Year’s Eve. I’ve been the bozo running around the streets of New York in a bright blazer and bow tie, but this year I’m opting for something more chill. While I’m not going all out, I still love being “festive.” If you’re still looking for some outfit inspo, I’m pretty obsessed with this look. I’ve been waiting to bust out this pajama shirt since it’s a lot of look, but it’s the perfect party piece. The top is a LEWQ so I made sure to dress around it. (Besides the shining patent shoes and the gold bling, of course.) Personally, I have no idea what I’m doing this year, but I’m sure I’ll end up singing Rihanna’s Work at the top of my lungs while dancing on top of a couch and clinging to a half empty bottle of champagne in my hand.
If we’re keeping 100, I probably wear hoodies all year long. (Yes, including in the summer because I have no idea what chill is or a basic understanding of weather.) I’m sure another site will tell you different, but I think a good hooded sweatshirt is a staple in every dude’s wardrobe, even if he’s not into streetwear. One major tip I can share on this topic is that your regular gym hoodie should NEVER be the same as your outfit hoodie. (That’s just nasty.) You really can’t go wrong with a heather gray piece. It’s classic and much like the one I’m wearing in this post, they can even be hella elevated. (I hate that word btw.) Go ‘head and splurge on a nice hoodie for yourself, it not just for hypebeasts and cozy boys anymore.
As much I love fashion and working in the industry, sometimes I just want to step and be like “lol guys it’s not that serious.” I’m always down for some fun, even if it means picking up this Looney Tunes hoodie from my favorite thrift store. Even scrolling through my own instagram there are a lot of pictures of my in neutral colors giving a mean mug. That being said, I decided to switch it up for y’all. Since the sweatshirt is the highlight I wanted to style around it in a casual streetwear look. I’m also working on smiling more since it’s free, ya know.
You’d think that at this point in my life I’d try to actively not wear sweatpants on a daily basis, but NAH. I will say though that my style has “elevated” a tad since I first wrote about being a cozy boy a couple of years ago. Slowly, but surely I’m embracing minimalism so the average pair of sweats won’t cut it. I personally love these trousers from Kenneth Cole because the fit, feel, and style are all on point. (I’m also a sucker for a good tuxedo stripe.) The next time you go to buy a pair of joggers try for something in a black, navy, or dark gray. To be super low-key opt for cuffs that don’t bunch at the bottom. (It makes a huge difference., I promise.)
