Ties To Go With Your Suits

In honor of Justin Timberlake‘s new track Suit & Tie I decided to round up 5 ties that you’ll certainly want to rock in 2013.

camo tie

You're not getting away from camo print in 2013 so why even try and fight it. [American Eagle]

leopard tie

Speaking of prints, this is also the year of unleashing you "manimal" with leopard prints. (Sorry) [DSquared]

If those other prints are a bit much for your style then a classic geometric pattern will do. [J.Crew]

color tie

If you're into shaking it up without mixing prints then a solid pop of color is the easiest way to do so. [Vulpin]

plaid tie

Maybe it's the Catholic school boy in me but pairing plaid ties with anything is A OK with me. [Club Monaco]

Mister Trax: June 4th Playlist

So I’m evolving my Mr. Trax posts to feature 30 min playlists of tracks that I’m digging at the moment. This week’s playlist is a pretty eclectic dance/hip hop mix featuring: Ellie Goulding, Santigold, Azealia Banks, Asher Roth, Childish Gambino, Major Lazer, Gossip, Radiohead, and Xiu Xiu.

Happy Listening!

Here’s What Red Carpet Luxury Looks Like

Earlier this month I got a lifelong dream come true. I was “iced out” by the famed Jacob the Jeweler of Jacob & Co as the company gave different bloggers and editors a “red carpet makeover. ” Jacob has pretty much outfitted all of my favorite entertainers and athletes so I was pretty psyched to 1) meet the guy and 2) handle jewels I probably will never be able to afford without selling my kidneys.

Outfit Details:
Watch: Jacob & Co
Sweater: Old Navy
Shirt: Ben Sherman
Fedora: Quiksilver

We’re a walking campaign.

What To Wear This New Years Eve

Me on New Years Eve last year.

Whether you are partying it up in an upscale lounge or your best friend’s basement I’ve compiled the basic elements to make any NYE outfit a hit no matter where you are.

The Blazer- 2011 was definitely the year of the dandy so you should end it like one. Open your horizons by opting for an interesting lapel with a different shape or contrasting color. Class it up by going or a white dinner jacket or change it up with a wool or velvet material.

The Shirt- You’ll need something to go underneath your perfect blazer. One can never go wrong with a classic solid colored shirt. If you want to add a twist to the classic then go with a shirt with a print such as a paisley or plaid. If you’re too cool for a collared shirt then a cool graphic tee is perfect or that IDGAF look.

The Trouser- Leave your jeans at home this New Years Eve because it is all about a slim fit trouser. If you plan on staying outside for a long period of time them a wool blend pant is super trendy and practical. A pop of color is perfect for the guy who wants to make a statement. I’m pretty particular to prints.

The Accessories- Nothing brings together an outfit like the right accessories. For a celebration as huge as this, many of the “style rules” go right out the door. It is a night of celebration and excess and your accessories should express it. Go wild! Be as flashy or  as simple you want. Just make sure to look at yourself in your mirror before you leave the house to make sure that your outfit is everything you want to ring in the new year.
