Time to get real on what goes on the the bathroom. Seriously when did taking a shower become so difficult? It’s all about gels, body washes, sponges, and loofahs. (I had to look up the spelling on that last one.) It’s time to take it back to basics. Personally I’ve always been a bar shop kind of guy because I like keep it simple in the grooming department.

Old Spice reached out to me to review their latest line of soaps to which I gladly obliged. The new bar soaps come in three different scents (Fiji, Sport, & Swagger) and are meant to add a little traditional masculinity back to the market. I’m usually wary about scented soaps because I have sensitive skin (TMI) and don’t want to walk around smelling like a high school locker room or cheap flowers.

Although I didn’t end up on a horse, I did honestly enjoy all of the bars. The scents are all bold, but not overwhelming. They also last a lot longer than I imagined. My favorite is Swagger for obvious reasons. You can literally say you bathe in swagger.

Do yourself a favor and try one of these new soaps for yourself.

It seems that summer has finally touched down on the city. (Well at least for a weekend.) For those sticky days, simplicity is key. With an oxford shirt and a turned up bucket hat, an ordinary pair of shorts can become a cool nautical look.

The Governors Ball Music Festival might be the closest musical event to Coachella that New York City has to offer. If you’re headed there this weekend you’re probably worried with details like transportation, how to navigate the lineup, and sneaking in contraband. Ease your mind because I’ve got your weekend wardrobe on lock.

With acts like Kings of Leon, Feist, & Erykah Bahdu; the first day of the fest is sure to be a laid back one. Remember a little print never hurt anybody.

Day 2 calls for a little more traditional festival gear. As of now it might be raining so a pair of boots would be a smart look unless you like getting mud inside your shoes.

This weekend marks the (unofficial) beginning of summer. That being said, you might as well start it out fresh. Check out the slideshow below for a day by day outfit guide on what to wear this Memorial Day Weekend.

You'll need to start your weekend off right on Friday. Wear something that's office appropriate, but comfortable to travel in. Don't forget to bring that weekender that doesn't make you look like you're smuggling contraband across state lines.

Saturday is when the real partying begins. Prepare to enjoy the (hopefully) warm weather all day long. Always pack a pair of trunks that look good in and out of the water because you never know where you'll end up.

At this point you might be feeling it. Rehab that hangover over brunch while wearing a light sweatshirt and sick pair of shades. You'll be ready for Sunday Funday in no time.

It's time to celebrate the real reason why you've had a 3 day weekend. Rep 'Merica by sporting a little red, white, and blue. Make sure you keep you wear a watch and keep your eye on it. Unfortunately you'll have to put your weekend to bed and pretend to be a grownup in the morning. (Unless you're done with school, then keep the party going, sir.

Two trends that I’m super into are the monochromatic palette and the faux sporty look. I obviously had to mix the two in one outfit this weekend as I strolled through the Upper East Side.

Don’t freak out, but Mother’s Day is this Sunday. If you are one of those guys who has already thought out a brillant and extravagant gift for your mom then good for you, Momma’s Boy. It’s  completely OK if it totally slipped your mind or you’re strapped for cash.

Get A Haircut:
Technically this might cost you unless you've got a hookup or extremely steady hands. Your mom will appreciate a clean shaven son and you're probably due for a trim anyway. (Note: If you have cornrows or a mohawk, you should have a little self respect and cut it off for yourself.

Get In A Serious Relationship:
Nothing reassures a mother than to know that their baby is being taken care of and won't grow up to be that weird single uncle who no one feels comfortable leaving the kids around. If you are helplessly single then don't fret because lying about this is 10x easier than half the BS you've told your mom when you were a teenager.

Get A "Real" Job
Sorry for assuming that if you're reading this that you're not a surgeon or Fortune 500 CEO. (If you are, I'm always looking for sponsors btw). Let's say you crushed your Mother's dream by working in the creative industry, freelance, or worse by claiming to be a "rapper/producer/DJ". Tell your momma that she was right about everything and that you're going to put that overpriced liberal arts degree to "good" use.

If all else fails (or you have a shred of self worth) then stop being a cheapskate and order your mom an Edible Arrangement. Moms love Edible Arrangements.
