Orange Soda Rain

I think I’m going to rename this blog dailyWEATHER because it seems like I’m only botching about NY weather and my outfits trying to conquer it. That being said last week was terrible in the city. I’m pretty sure it rained every singe day. There was one bright side to last week and it was that I finally gt to bring out my burnt orange American Eagle rain slicker.

Outfit Details:
Rain Slicker: American Eagle
Sweater: Micheal Kors
Pants: H&M
Shoes: Florsheim

This outfit is the epitome of high-low fashion. I live for mixing things like designers sweaters and shoes with pants that are super basic and have enough style to be able to blend well with the expensive pieces.  Don’t know what came over me to wear shoes like this in the rain. (Think the excitement of a new rain jacket flushed my brain)

My favorite piece is of course my rain slicker. The amazing people at American Eagle gifted it to me and I waited patiently for a good day to rock it. Be careful for what you ask for because I got a whole rainpocalypse. It did keep me super dry and has a supers comfy neckline.

PS this will be my last style wearing my terrible broken Canal St glasses.

That High & Dry Feeling

Yesterday was a pretty dark and wet day in NYC. That’s why I decided to break out my new Joseph Abboud umbrella which let me feel high & dry (in a good way though.)

Outfit Details:
Umbrella: Courtesy of Joseph Abboud
Sweater: Old Navy
Blazer: Thrifted
Pants: Quiksilver
Sneakers: DC

That morning I decided run a few errands before work. I initially wore a different outfit but on my way from Point A to Point B  the sky broke open and it rained mercilessly while I just continued walking and getting soaked.  Of course I ran back downtown to get of of my wet clothes before work. I realized that I was steadily becoming late for an editorial meeting so a quick change was in need.

I wanted to be warm and comfortable so this Old Navy sweater did the trick. I don’t own a trench and my previous jacket looked like a sponge so there comes in the patterned blazer. I kept my skinny jeans and sneakers on to maintain a young and urban look. Before even putting anything on I knew that it was time to bring out the Joseph Abboud umbrella that I was given at a press preview not to long ago. It just so happens that the umbrella worked well with my pattern theme that day. (Not to mention kept me extra dry.) Continue reading

BUY IT: Hunter’s Bormio Boot

If you are anywhere near NYC right now then you know it is raining cats and dogs. I decided to wake up this morning and throw on a pair of moccasins to match my vintage sweater. BIG MISTAKE! As I write this I am currently dripping and my shoes are disgusting. More than ever do I wish I owned these boots. Not only are they combat like and go with the military trend but they will also keep me dry. If you want to pick a pair for yourself or a friend (namely me) get them at Neiman Marcus.
